quick catch up: 2023-2025
2023-2025 were some difficult years for me. Some family member(s) got very sick; leading to stressed finances in a way I hadn't experienced before.
Multi-tranched Meta layoffs (Nov, 2022; Mar, 2023) didn't affect me directly, and I was blissfully ignorant of the later cascading effects that directly and very negatively affected my life and made my life hell for the next 9-months (Apr-Dec).
Month over month dear colleagues of mine were forced out of the company, and this came to a head: Apr-Dec 2023 I was forced out of my team, and it took me months to conclude that some people just aren't good. Toxicity, manipulatively dishonest, and entering moral corruption: I'm glad this is in the past as cautionary tale; some things just aren't worth taking up brain-space otherwise.
2024 was a huge momentum shift for me as I was able to transfer away, not only to folks that I have much admiration and respect for, but also be given the trust and autonomy to work on something I truly thought would make a difference, and that I was uniquely able to help. A win-win; where folks' day to day at work saw long-term improvements, and I got to feel special in my little corner.
2025 after busting my ass I was promoted! And we even shipped the v0 version of the product (sept 2025)! I also started dating someone really wonderful haven't been so happy since.
End of 2025 (nov-feb 2026) I took an extended "Meta Recharge" and got to travel, ski, go on winter adventures ... this was such a privilege. But now deep into late summer and entering fall, some more news coming soon.
